The concept of coronal leakage has been bandied around over and over again when it comes to restorability of teeth and ensuring bacteria and their toxins do not get to the apex of a tooth and cause apical disease. This paper gives a nice overview of some of the concepts and the literature examining coronal leakage whilst also providing some insight into strategies to minimise ‘leakage’.

If you want to know more about coronal leakage and its effect on restorability please come to the ‘Restorability’ Symposium on the 25th of April at the BDA London where four speakers will disseminate this Key Topic.
